Ah, it only credits us if you buy something. I suppose that keeps me from signing up with 500 fake email addresses.
"Share this link with your friends and when they start buying, you’ll start earning. For every friend you refer who then spends a minimum of $2.00, we will credit both your accounts $2.00."
In other words, it won't save you money on Guild Wars 2, should you buy that first. At least you'll still get 10% off!

I don't know how long this promotion runs. No pressure, but I'd preorder it soon!
Also, they seem to have done away with the coupon code and just made it -10% right now.
HK just signed up and bought GW2. We both got the $2 credit after he bought the game. GMG might not sound interesting to you now, but they are popular for selling Steam games, that is, games that activate on Steam. They also sell DRM-free games, but they know how people like Steam, so they sell lots of Steam games as well. You'll use that $2 at some point.

I didn't get any credit from you guys, only from Hk and moniker. Oh well. And yes, after you click the link, it just looks like you were sent to the root site, but there's a cookie that knows you clicked a referral link. I don't know when that cookie expires, so whatever your course of action was, I guess it didn't go through. I hope you guys get your credit though, after you bought a game. I'll be on during the beta weekend, but not Saturday. Ironic that the day of my b-day, I am not doing the thing I want to be doing most, in favor of celebrating my b-day.

So, I got an email stating the game client is ready to download, and the sooner the better so it goes faster and not as many DL'ing at once .. but I cannot find a link to get it. By going into "Account:, then game client it says it is still a work in progress and there is no DL option.
Anyone successful with this that can point me in the right direction ?

Here is a direct link to the file: http://cloudfront.guildwars2.com/client/Gw2.exeThis is the actual page to get to it: https://forum-en.guildwars2.com/forum/i ... #post23795Install instructions: Quote: Download the Guild Wars 2 executable file. If prompted, be sure to click “Save” or "Save As,” not “Run”. Copy the executable file from the location where you downloaded it, typically your Downloads folder, to the folder on your computer where you wish to install the game. The folder where you place the executable file is the folder the game will use to download and store its data. Note: If you use Windows Vista or Windows 7, it is recommended that you install the game in a location other than the Program Files folder. Alternatively, you should run the game as an administrator. Run the executable file from its final location. Allow the game to patch the necessary data from our file servers. It took a while, so its probably better to let it run overnight.

Here is a list of servers from the blog: Quote: Anvil Rock Borlis Pass Yak’s Bend Henge of Denravi Maguuma Sorrow’s Furnace Kaineng Jade Quarry Fort Aspenwood Ehmry Bay Ferguson’s Crossing Darkhaven Vasburg Eredon Terrace Crystal Desert Tarnished Coast Steamspur Mountains Blazeridge Mountains Isle of Janthir Sea of Sorrows Deldrimor Scavenger’s Causeway Moladune Eternal Grove I like that you can be on one server but still play with friends on another (with limited capabilities) - even so, we should pick our home server.

I asked a couple others who will be playing (DANE, Moniker) and we didn't reach a final call on it. We were thinking Anvil Rock, Darkhaven, or Blazeridge Mountains.

I would recommend a server near the bottom .. people will generally select something right near the top.
This could play out a little different as they are names of areas, they may look for their favorite, but I think it will still be prevalent.

They said something about having the ability to change servers once during the beta weekend coming this Friday. So, even if people choose the wrong world during the beta, they'd be able to swap over, given they dont mess up a second time... As for choosing a server near the top? If it is anything like previous games I've played, they gave population amounts by either saying "high, medium, low" or what not. And I've usually picked things with medium-low population as its easier to be noticed for doing something incredible amongst the "community" if you will. Either way, look forward to playing alongside/against you guys in the future

I don't agree FUBAR, from what I've seen in other MMOs. People go for cool sounding names, and ones that are easy to pronounce. In TERA, the Dragonfall server was 2nd to last in the list, but by far the most popular. I mean come on, "Dragonfall." Compare that to the server on the top of the list, Basilisk Cragg. Least popular.
With that said, I'm putting Yak's Bend on the top of my list, because it's funny, and removing Darkhaven, because that will probably attract a lot of "super serious" players.

We need to get our guildwars section on this site back up so we can have a central place for us to post. plus, is everyone who played previously going to keep their names from guildwars? Im going to have to do some shopping , i think i need a new hard drive and more memory!

I like the idea of using Yak's Bend as our server. I haven't really been paying attention to the news and stuff, but will you be able to import your original Guild Wars characters to the new version? In any case, I'm going to keep the "Toes" going

They said you would be able to keep names from your old Guild Wars account. Any word on what server for sure? Seems like Yak's Bend is where I will be going if no answer is definitively given by beta time.
Edit: Nevermind... Everytime I tried entering Yak's Bend I got an "Unable to complete operation" error, so I chose Blazeridge Mountain instead. Low population, since it was on one of your guy's choices for servers. Yak's Bend is really high on population, probably close to being "Full."

FWIW, I tried going to Yak's Bend, but was unable to signin (would crash out as others have seen.) Also, it looks like Yak's Bend is getting filled up, so it might be hard to get in. I signed into Blazeridge Mountain. Starting with my old character name of "Holy Toe Leto" I can do the change to another server if we decide on a different home.
