Hey all~ I have a wealth of information at my fingertips to find a good site for all of my pics, but the information is too much for me to handle all at once. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_photo_sharing_websitesIn the upcoming months I would like to put all (and I mean ALL!) of my photos on one of these sites (free) for preservation (ie. to have a digital copy of all of my photos in case of fire, etc). Image Shack looks decent with unlimited storage and 5MG per pic Flickr hopefully has unlimited storage, with 15MG per pic and a limitation to upload 300MB per pic (may be okay since this is going to take me a while anyway). Accounts that are inactive for 3 months get deleted (not cool, but still a consideration) Photobucket looks similar to Image Shack with 5MG per pic and unlimited storage Anyone have some input about ease of use, personal experiences, other tips, or other considerations that can help me narrow down the choices?

I use Google+ and their underlying photo storage is called picassa. Tons of photographers on Google+.
I mainly use it to share photos with family, it's basically unlimited with a total limit applied only against very large photos. Extremely easy to use and tons of privacy flexibility.

We use Picasa, too, but I thought there was a size limit to the account. Has that changed recently?

There is, I think, a 1GB total size limit. If you use Google+ then that limit only applies to large photos. I don't recall off the top of my head how large the photo has to be before it counts towards the limit, but I remember it was pretty large. I found this article on it: Quote: Picasa is limited to 1GB of storage (unless you pay up for more Google bytes) but now there's a free workaround. You can upload unlimited photos (smaller than 2048x2048) and videos (under 15 minutes) Google+ and it doesn't touch your storage limit.

The 1GB limit was a turnoff to me, but I also have more than one google account, so I suppose I could just switch to a different account to add more. We may have a winner!

I posted the details of the unlimited ability above, so as long as you use G+ you may not need to switch accounts.

Cool, thanks for the clarification. I haven't made the switch to Google+ yet, but I think I have an invite sitting around somewhere.
