New Spiral Sallet hat for soldier - CALL TO ACTION

EDIT: You just need to play till you get to depth 4, which is the first terminal. You can do this from any gate. Once you have the "Mission Accomplished" achievement, you should be able to log into TF2 and get your hat drop (this goes live some time on June 15). You won't need to play with friends, etc. I personally really enjoy this game, but if you aren't into it, that's all you'll ever have to do in this game to get the hat.


Okay folks. I posted about this amazing little game Moniker and I had been playing called Spiral Knights. No one on RH cared. But now it's part of Steam's new "free to play" initiative, and officially on Steam.

Why should you care now? TF2 has a new promo hat called the Spiral Sallet, a helm from Spiral Knights. It's not a simple promo GET however. [redacted]

My existing suped up character will be ported over in a week, when the devs figure out how. Till then, I created a quicky character just to get the hat.

Just look at this helm and tell me you don't want it...

Note that because no one has the hat in TF2 yet, no one knows how to actually obtain it. The official Steam item unlocks actually start tomorrow, so I'll update on how to get the hat. It might be as simple as playing through all of tier 1, which is 6 floors of fun (8 floors total but two of those are just terminals to change your loadout).

In the meantime, install the game, play through the tutorial and rescue camp, and at least make it to Haven. You definitely won't get any hat just for installing the game, so might as well have some fun!

Looks like all you have to do is play to the first terminal (that's 4 floors down). You'll know when you get the "Mission Accomplished" steam achievement. Btw, the hat doesn't unlock till tomorrow, so feel free to get the achievement now, but you won't see the hat till tomorrow some time.

just loaded the game and made it to Haven.

Updated the first post with instructions on how to get the hat. Hopefully some folks enjoy it and will continue to play after they've got the hat. Moniker and I could use more RH in SK.

Hehe, Swoop, if you ever want to play, hit me up on Steam. The game gets super hard later on, but a lot of fun trying to best enemies.

Yeah, not paintable... but then again, the scout's "Essential Accessories" socks/wristbands just barely became paintable a few days ago and those have been out for months. I think eventually the Sallet will be paintable too.
