I think you're confusing having a negative attitude with having an assertive one. RH has a very pub mentality still, and does need to be yelled at a lot of times to get things done, but it's more about the assertiveness and direction than it is about bringing down the team. Hell, you can probably be quite mean in comp and be just fine. Having a downer attitude is what doesn't belong in comp. In the past, ethan and blaine have been negative and they know it. Telling the team in the middle of play that the other team is going to win, or saying how much we suck, that never helps (you can say so afterwards though haha). Being assertive, even to the point of telling specific people what to do, can work quite well.

On the RH pub server, I actually find your usual "heeey noooow...sigh" funny and one of the things that makes the server diverse. In comp play, it's something to do without. Be as mean as you want though; it gets things done.

I agree with you with regard to how we approach this game. I will leave the other parts alone other than to say that the hundreds of people that I lead each day would either be laughing if they read this or gasping in shock waiting for the reply.

That's the beauty of the RH pub community: you're not my boss, so I'll say whatever I want! :2fer:

But I still love you.

...my 2 yen...
gel is a bit too sensitive :2fer:
Parkmad is a grump :2fer:
Just get along, that is all... :2fer:

...and yes, when I was playing with you guys regularly, granted I haven't in a few weeks...but I do remember that Park is making a valid point. The team as a whole does at time lack cohesion in strategy. Also, as a team, there are times when you are NOT aggressive enough. I totally believe that as a team, we play well, and continuously get better...just not quite there yet.

lastly...let me know whenever you need me to sub in...preferably a day before

yup. we're not agressive enough. When we saved first and capped second at prolane, we did manage to push to third, but once at third, i (sniper) was the only one on the point and i was stabbed, which led to us losing the point. We need to stack the point and keep the pressure on the opposing team. We often wait too long to push and that gives thebother team a lot of time to respawn and wipebus out. I also noticed that we were barely able to wipe out their whole team because they at least had four up, yet they often killed all nine of us because we weren't working well enough as a team. MORE PRACTICE!

Well, that's what we were doing. SCRIM = PRACTICE, but we are reinforcing bad practices. We should be trying different tactics and see how it works. I switched between uber and kritz to see if we could get the advantage on a full charge. If they can't charge an uber and not setting up regular sg's than kritz can be very effective. That's what I was using when we came within of sliver of winning the round. Coincidence, I don't know yet, but I have learned over the years that kritz is very effective on defense and on quick moving push maps (no sentry encampments).

Another thing and I yelled about this last night, let's agree beforehand how we are going to advance. Stating that you disagree when we have already played a few rounds is poor communication.

And gel, I don't have any hard feelings about our discussion. However, I am unsure if I love you too. My heart belongs to Z. :)

oh kritz, perhaps the only non-vanilla non-pureupgrade weapon I've ever loved.

kritz play has seen a lot of use at the highest level since day one, but with the sentry use seen in highlander I can't imagine it being worth the risk in most situations except perhaps at an initial confrontation at mid on a map like prolane (assuming the middle is the same), it would definitely be harder to uber-shield a team of 8 individuals than a team of 5 individuals (more like 7 and 3 tbh), especially on an open mid like fastlane.

An interesting consideration would be to create a cvar to allow crits to affect gear for this specific type of play.

The Mother's Day Scrim against Malent's team at 8pm pst...PLEASE BE THERE and early so we can maybe create a situation where we can cap all of the points (and work as a team, instead of individuals). I really want us to move onto the next round....really badly. So when we face malent's team tomorrow put on your game face and match heart so we can learn and hopefully win before our match monday!

Good game, all! All in all, I think we had a pretty good run. 50% is not a bad ratio, especially with some of the amazing teams we were up against. Time to cheer on the Mad Hatters (and count me in if they still want to scrim with us).

So was your little introduction to comp play enough to keep scriming? ;p

Well we may be out, but we never will be down. The Axl-ffu guys are still in that tournament and would like our help to get better...possibly to be the best (of the almost worst). They currently would like to scrim our team on Saturday at 7pm on pl_upward. I expect everyone to be there and have some fun before heading to their other activities for the night.

[edit]Never mind, not enough people will be able to play so it is cancelled...maybe next week[/edit]
