The HIGHLANDER Challenge Has Started!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, the groups are set and we face up against Fraggle Rockets during week 2 and Elitist Pricks during week 3. That means Team Leaders (AKA Krig and Maxwell) need to set up a match time against both of those teams. I would prefer we pick Fridays as our match days since it is most likely all our teammates can fight. Also, if you could team leaders read over the rules and post what each player on our team needs to do prior/during/after the match it would help everyone out a lot. Hopefully we can win both matches and sail smoothly into the playoffs. Make sure Team Leaders that you put the starting positions in a post as well, so we know who HAS to be at the matches.

Also, I would like to note that we will be playing Badwater/Granary against Fraggle Rockets and Dustbowl/Granary against Elistist Pricks.

Judging by what our "leaders" have been [not] doing, we've already forfeited.

Are we still playing this or not? When you step up as the leader you have to lead. No one expects you to if you didn't nominate yourself or accept the position. But as it stands either say something or step down so we can move on from there. Life happens, but it's nice if you let us know that too.

I'm not doing any of the scheduling, but I'll post strategy in the clan forum since this one is open to the public, including our competitors.

If you remember a long long time ago when we did sign-ups for the etf2l.org highlander challenge that medals would be promised to all participators that did not default lose any of their matches. Well, we did not default lose any of our matches so all of the members on the team are eligible for a medal. To claim the medal click on this link, but right now you can not redeem the medal....just see if you are eligible. I'll make another post when you can actually redeem it. Hopefully its sooner rather than later!

I snooped around UGC to see if badges were up yet, but I can't tell. Any word on this, Al ol' pal?

I'm going to start off with etf2l.org's medal status then go into the ugc medal status to keep it clear and hopefully concise.

14 days ago (of this posting) the site admin "DeNeusbeer" posted a secret message that translated into:

IN FACT, AS FAR AS I KNOW, WE'RE WAITING FOR ONE LAST E-MAIL FROM MR WALKER WITH SOME SECRET CODES AND STUFF. ONCE WE GET THAT WE CAN PUT THEM IN I CAN GO REDEEM MY MEDAL. IF THAT WORKS, YOU CAN GET ONE AS WELL.

BAR ANY UNFORESEEN CONSEQUENCES, YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO GET YOUR MEDAL WITHIN A DAY ONCE WE GET THE WORD FROM VALVE. THAT COULD BE ANY DAY NOW. *KNOCKS ON WOOD*

Once, they get that email from Valve I'll make another post that will say etf2l.org medals are ready to redeem. To check if you are eligible for a medal you will need to remember your login information and go to this page.

As for the UGC Highlander Medals I'm trying to figure that information out right now. The knowledge I have gathered so far is coming from this forum thread where one of the site's administrators wrote:

Congrats to the winning teams and their players, gg to all.

We will be distributing posters and medals from our "player page" for each eligible player.
Click on the green steam login button on our ugc webpage to login and check your eligibility. (Or you can load your player page by clicking on your name on your teams ugc web page.)

for posters:
I will need a mailing address for each eligible player. Each player can use the form on their Player Page, or you team leader can send me a list of address, whichever works for your team. I will be mailing all posters at the same time, so give me a week or two to collect address and package them. (For the European team, contact me for mailing instructions)

for medals:
Your eligibility for tf2 in-game medals is set on our webpage, you can view your medal status by loading your player page. your medal eligibility is listed under Player Honors. When we have completed the medal verification code with valve, you will submit your claim via our player page after logging in to our website thru that green steam login link - that is probably a few weeks away.

Our medal models are nearly complete, we will make a news post with pictures and model credits in a few days

Since we did not win our division league we will not get any posters. As for medals it should clear what you need to do. But to be safe, when you click the link in the quote above and log in, all you need to do at this point is make sure you have the same two lines within the red box below:

No medals have been released yet, but I wanted to post what the medals will look like. For the etf2l highlander challenge each member of the team (who can remember their login information) will receive a participation medal (far right):


and this is the medal for 3rd place in the ugc highlander tournament.

I'll either edit or make a new post when they release a picture of the medal we will receive.

Just wanted to give a quick update on the highlander medals that were promised to everybody that participated in the ugc and etf2l tournaments. After doing a little research the medals are actually in the game right now, but Valve has yet to finish the code to hand those medals out to the correct individuals. While this has taken Valve time and probably will continue in Valve time until finished, the medals that we will be receiving are below:
