Many motorsports seasons are entering their final stages within the next few weeks so it would be a good time to make a roundup:

  4. 132 pts Valtteri Bottas
  5. 118 pts Daniel Ricciardo
  6. 105 pts Max Verstappen
  7. 52 pts Nico Hulkenberg
  8. 45 pts Kevin Magnussen
  9. 44 pts Fernando Alonso
  10. 30 pts Sergio Perez

Constructor standings
  1. 345 pts Mercedes
  2. 335 pts Ferrari
  3. 223 pts Red Bull Racing Tag Heuer
  4. 82 pts Renault
  5. 66 pts Haas Ferrari
  6. 59 pts Force India Mercedes
  7. 52 pts McLaren Renault
  8. 28 pts Scuderia Toro Rosso Honda
  9. 9 pts Sauber Ferrari
  10. 4 pts Williams Mercedes

Why watch the rest of the season
  1. The Lewis Hamilton vs Sebastian Vettel battle for the Driver's Championship - Both are 4 time driver champions and trying to get their 5th
  2. The first lap chaos - standing starts make close action going into turn 1
  3. Pinnacle of technology - top teams spend over 700 million a season on two cars

Verizon IndyCar Series
Watch on NBC Sports Network

  1. ABC Supply 500 @ Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, PA on Aug 19
  2. Bommarito Automotive Group 500 @ Gateway Motorsports Park in Madison, IL on Aug 25

  7. 344 pts Simon Pagenaud
  8. 335 pts Graham Rahal
  9. 328 pts James Hinchcliffe
  10. 293 pts Sebastien Bourdias

Why watch the rest of the season
  1. Will Scott Dixon hold on to the championship lead? The last few races have had contenders closing the gap to Scott Dixon's lead and with 4 to go many drivers are still in the hunt
  2. Ovals, streets, roads - IndyCar races on ovals, city streets and dedicated road courses and the last four races include a super speedway, a short oval and two road courses
  3. New aero kit this season has produced near some of the best racing in decades
  4. I went to three races this year Grand Prix of Indianapolis, Indianapolis 500 and Kohler Grand Prix and find this to be the most fun series to watch

Posts still to come oval focused series and GT series
