Thu Mar 02, 2017 7:04 pm

Series:
Occupied - Netflix - Modern Day drama/political. Norwegian. Very good. Still waiting for season 2.
The Heavy Water War - Netflix - Norwegian made. True story about the Heavy Water Plant in Norway, the German interest and take over of it, and sabotage by Allied forces. Recommend !! A 6 part series.
The Knick - Cinemax - Medical drama set in early 20th century. Very good.

Movie:
Something the Lord Made - HBO. Good medical movie about the creator of heart transplants. Stars Alan Rickman.

TV

Marcella - Netflix, British crime drama with a very nice twist (something you're aware of in episode 1, not something you get blind sided with later).

Nobel - NETFLIX Norwegian (yes you have to read subtitles but it's worth it) follows an elite SpecOps team from Norway both during deployment in the Anbar province of Afghanitsan and then at home as some mystery revolving around their work unfolds.

Movie

Eye in the Sky - what do you do when you have a high value target in your crosshairs, but they are a citizen and there might be collateral damage? a war room / political movie with great acting about terrorism, national security, and legally covering your ass when assassinating one of your own. NOT an action movie but very tense and interesting.

I would say Black Mirror on Netflix, but it has blown up and become not so obscure.

But it's also so good that I'm going to list it anyways.

TV
Black Mirror - Netflix, self-contained episodes, more than a little dystopic, takes place about... 5 minutes from now. Crazy good.
Man in the High Castle - Amazon, Nazis win WWII.

Movie

The Invitation - Netflix, If you haven't seen it, don't look up anything about it, just go watch it right now. Seriously. One review, one brief synopsis, and you've ruined the whole film. Just watch it. Right now.
