We were spending a quiet evening watching a movie, when my son came home and drove into the wall in the back of the garage. Luckily, a storage container of books absorbed most of the force of collision. I later discovered that the damage extended into the house. This the area where I am adding a pantry to the kitchen.

Maybe he was just trying to help with the pantry.

I was 16, and I'd been grounded for drinking. So, of course, my dad sets me up on a date with a candy striper. (I could never figure out the logic of that discipline.) He tells me to take his car (Porsche 911S - yeah I was spoiled). This was before car engines wouldn't turn over unless you had the clutch down. And my dad had left the car in gear. So, I got in, didn't put my foot on the clutch, turned the key, and totaled.... my mom's garage kiln.

Ever since, I've engaged the clutch when starting a car.

I have found it best to view these things as payback for the crap I put my parents through when I was that age. I might of felt differently if he had taken out my road bike that was hanging over the area, however.
