Too funny...good find.
Unfortunately, the Pope, will NEVER condone the use of condoms except for the possible prevention of the passing of the AIDS virus.
Also, some interesting stats: Eighty-two percent of U.S. Catholics say birth control is morally acceptable, nearing the 89% of all Americans and 90% of non-Catholics who agree. Also, 98 Percent Of Catholic Women Use Birth Control Banned By Church. This shows, that the Catholic Church, at least in the US, has a MASSIVE DISCONNECT with it's own flock. Is there ANY doubt as to WHY so many have become 'Lapsed' Catholics? Ever since Benedict first came into power the church, which WAS becoming a bit more progressive under John Paul II, has now, once again become the church of the 17th century and NOT the church that the believers of the 21st Century WANT. Another set of stats: 43 percent of Catholics favored allowing gay and lesbian people to marry; 31 percent favored allowing them to form civil unions. 22 percent said there should be no legal recognition of a gay relationship.. So, by this, 74%, or the majority would support some sort of union where the Church would recognize NONE. If the Church is NOT careful, the slightly more than a trickle of parishioners deciding to lapse WILL become a torrent.
