This guy has been at it for years. He started with car batteries and every config of batts since. The motor in the car was his brilliant idea. He had a longer shaft made so two, I think they are 20hp, motors work together end to end instead of one larger, heavier one. I would love to go electric but its expensive to do.

About two years ago a coworker and I looked pretty far into it. Motor and controller cost about 7-8k. That alone in comparison to a gas engine is huge. And the a battery pack with a 30 mile range was another 2k+. A lithium bat pack was nearly 12k. I figured if I wait the bat packs from Tesla's, Volts and the like will hit the wrecking yards and I can pull from there.
