To be brutally honest, I await the day that George dies...then saner minds can take over the franchise and make the sequels that we all desire. Sequels that takes what the EU gave and works with what the numerous writers wrote...

In the original (Lucas) script, right before Solo gets frozen into carbonite, and after Leia says "I love you", Solo was supposed to say "I love you too". Instead Harrison Ford realized that this line sucked and was out of character, and instead adlibbed "I know".
George Lucas didn't even understand his own characters, or if he did, they were awesome solely due to the people he worked with, not because of anything he had to do with.

Well, The edited version looks like a twelve year old shot it. He is welcome to tell the story any way he likes, it's just that his way sucks.
