Hey now -

I know there are some of you up here in WA so I thought I would ask... having a bit of trouble finding the information that covers this.

I acquired an old revolver from my father - Mod. RG 14, Cal .22 LR, 7/8" barrel - and brought it back with me from AZ (in a lockbox, packed in a box, WAY back in the truck of my car). Now I'm thinking I need to register it, but the only thing I can find info on is getting a permit to conceal-carry (http://www.dol.wa.gov/business/firearms/). Yes, I know that this model has a reputation as a POS, but it's just the cutest little thing!

The other thing is that I don't have the provenance for it - so I have no idea when/where it was purchased or how it was used (Heaven forbid in a crime). I'm pretty confident that that isn't anything to worry with regards to my Dad (and the weapon's rep) - but want to be careful nonetheless. There does seem to be a number stamped on the bottom of the handgrip, but that seems a silly place to put a ID number.

Seems in pretty good condition, just needs a cleaning.

So - asking advice here, and who better to ask than y'all!

Thanks everyone!

If it was made before 1968 it was never registered. All new handguns are registered to the purchaser at the time of sale. All FFL dealers must register guns to the purchaser. Unless things have changed, private parties are not responsible for registering guns. I have 20+ guns and the only 2 registered to me are the 2 I bought new. My father was a police officer and I know he just checked to see if a gun was stolen before he or I buy it.

Send a PM to Blythe88...if anyone would know, he would. He is a reloader by hobby and is NRA qualified...so ask him. If anyone would know your answers, it would be him. His name is a link to his membership page.
