Hey now!
As we were pretty frustrated trying to surf the forums from my iPhone, we were able to upload and modify a Mobile Browser theme.
This should be automatic, when you log in from a regular browser you get the regular theme, and when you come in from a mobile browser you get the mobile theme.
Let us know if this is working (or not) and stuff. If there are problems let us know what device you are using and what the problem is.
Thanks!
The Management
------
Things to work on:
1. Post a link on the mobile version that will allow you to go to the desktop version 2. I found that if I'm not already logged in, the link to login in a thread doesn't work and I have to go back to the index to login (the link is there but not clickable).

Tested and works great. This is coming to you by way of swype. Which is a pretty awesome tool by the way.

Works fine on my 3GS, but .. could you post a link on the mobile version that will allow you to go to the normal PC version ? I didn't easily see which categories had new posts, so I did a "all new posts" and got over 9 pages because of all the WoW and did not want to wade through it all, or click through all the sections.
It is a good switch though and works great !

Sweet, at least that saves on data for some folks. I found that if I'm not already logged in, the link to login in a thread doesn't work and I have to go back to the index to login (the link is there but not clickable). I prefer to surf in desktop mode on my Android phone anyway, and that's how I'm posting this now!
Also, great job on getting it working, but I found the mobile site to be very monotone and it's hard to see things like where one post ends and the next begins. It just a wall of text with everything left-aligned, haha.

Thanks for the feedback. That's the rub Fubar, at this point it's all or nothing. The script detects you're on a mobile and decides what your best viewing experience would be I'll check out the login gel. I hear you on the "wall of text", and I'm not stoked on the unread messages anchor style (black box with white border). Some of these things we can change. I mean, the theme was white with Star Trek before, so we can do a lot. It sounds like the ability to choose mobile or desktop would be good. It's always nice to have a choice OK, as time permits I'll try to get to these things.

tested briefly on a blackberry web browser. it did detect i was running a mobile device but i agree with most people that i'd rather have the full version as the mobile website it a bit hard to read and use

Yeah dom, and if you use the Dolphin browser, or other browsers, you can switch between desktop and mobile mode.
Doesn't the iPhone have an option to toggle? It's so useful.

This works pretty well on a Droid X as well. I'm trying to get a handle on Swype as well. [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
