My kid f'd something up on his new PC. Non of the usb ports are functioning and there are no ps2 ports. How can I do anything without a mouse or keyboard? He was installing a kinect and I'm sure the usb drivers are the problem after he restarted the machine.

Can you do a rollback? A system restore to an earlier point where it was working? (sorry if this is a dumb question)

I think a restore is the best option. Things to try:

1) Is bluetooth built into the PC, if so you may try a bluetooth keyboard/mouse
2) I usually build my PC to have a separate small bootable partition from which I can mount and fix the main boot partition, but that would have already had to been made.
3) Boot into diagnostic mode, perhaps the ports work in that mode and you can restore from there
4) Boot the PC from a disc (you'd need to have one) and fix the hard drive from there
5) Install another hard drive and boot from that new drive, then fix the original drive
6) Re-install from scratch with OS discs

Thanks guys. It's a brand new PC so I'll just exchange it. It didn't come with any discs. Without the keyboard working I can't boot into anything. Bluetooth is off.
By the way, the HTC vive is really fun. The motion capture is incredible.

Cool, going forward you might want a separate recovery partition on the PC.

There is a rumor that HTC will announce their next generation hive at CES next week.
