Well, my trusty PC of 8 years has finally stopped doing what I need it to do...play games. It will surf the web fine, I can watch vids, but ANY 3d and the damn thing quits.

Here is the new build...I already purchased a 3GB Barracuda HDD ~2 months ago on sale...main goal of this build is to go 1440p and record/broadcast to Twitch and Youtube and keep everything under $2000. Also, purchased Windows 10 Pro on Amazon.

ASUS Z170-A LGA 1151 Intel Z170 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
Intel Core i5-6600K 6M Skylake Quad-Core 3.5 GHz
G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 2400 (PC4 19200)...order 2 of these for 32GB RAM
Corsair Hydro Series™ H100i V2 Extreme Performance Water / Liquid CPU Cooler. 240mm
EVGA 220-GS-0850-V1 80 PLUS GOLD 850
MSI Radeon R9 390X DirectX 12 R9 390X GAMING 8G 8GB 512-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0
NZXT HUE PLUS Smart RGB Color Changing Digitally Controlled LED PC Lighting
Lite-On EBAU108 External DVD-Writer - Black
ARCTIC MX-4 (4g) Carbon-Based Thermal Compound, Non-Electricity Conductive, Non-Capacitive
NEW NZXT H440 STEEL Mid Tower Case
Acer XG270HU 27" 1ms 144HZ WQHD HDMI DisplayPort Adaptive-Sync (Free Sync)

there are a lot of different ways you could go with this build but the one thing I would personal switch is the PSU, I would go with a corsair

I was leaning Corsair for PSU as well until this EVGA went on sale...both had similar reviews for power and silence...one was on sale at the time.
