Hi all - here are some screenshots of the specs of my 2nd computer (which is slowly becoming my sons computer). Games are running really slowly and lagging alot, wondering if more RAM will help or if it's a graphics card issue. Also if I get more RAM, how much more? I have 4 slots - right now 1GB in each of two slots for a total of 2GB. Will adding two - 1GB DDR (to a total of 4) be noticable?

with as old of a computer as that is and being a 32bit ver of win 7 I would just throw in maybe 1 gig ram in it as 32bit not going to take more ram then that and do a clean format of the hard drive as its just way to date to spend anymore money on it unless you got some freebee stuff laying around

OK...your proc is not too much of an issue as all games will run quite well with that proc
Your 2 gb of RAM IS an issue...
As well as that ancient graphics card...it only has 512 mb of RAM, also looks as if this came from a MAC?
If you can upgrade to a minimum of 4 gb of RAM and get the best graphics card that MOBO will take then you should be able to play some of the more current games at their lower/lowest graphics settings.
Also, is this one of those small form factor desktops? The one that is roughly 4" wide? If so you will be limited to a small form factor graphics card.

what would be a decent GPU upgrade in the $40-60 range (this is a backup computer)

No you shouldn't need to add in pairs, but just stick with the 3 gigs or ram and 4 gigs is a waste of money as 32bit OS maxes out at just above 3 gigs compatible. as for the video car made sure to check the power supply rating and if it has the proper connectors to even handle a new card
