Large Video transfer

Fri Sep 20, 2013 9:12 am

I had to put several large video files on my brother's computer to free up room on my camera card and now I need to know the best way for him to digitally send them to me for free. They're too large to email. It would be preferable to keep the videos as close to the original format as possible. I don't remember what's in all of the videos, so I'd like to do this transfer without sharing it with the whole Internets. (They're mostly of farm animals being cute or funny, but just in case I have some video footage with other people in it is what I don't remember).

For reference, I have a 4 Gigabyte card in my camera, so I will have less than that in terms of the total amount that I need transferred.

I think there might be a way for him to transfer the videos to my external hard drive (Seagate 1 Terabyte) through a cloud service, but I don't know how much of a hassle that would be since I haven't used it yet.

Doing a search on this brings tons of options, but then I got confused and overwhelmed because some of them save it in a "cloud" and only provide a link and other limitations.

Help me please :pullhair:

YouSendIt.com

Or FTP. I can give you access to my FTP space if you want to upload it and have him download it. it will be a slow process but its free and 100% digital.

Drop box. The 2gig box is free, without adds or other crap. $ for larger. You can put a box on all your devises and create boxes for sharing. Put the file in the desired folder/box and then retrieve it from that box on another device.
