External Hard Drive

Tue Dec 11, 2012 9:36 am

Capacity: 1 TB
Portability: not needed
Main Use: attaching it to the tv and using it for movie storage
Price: ~$100

I've briefly looked around and thinking that this Seagate Backup Plus 1TB USB 3.0 Black Desktop Hard Drive would fit my needs.

Good enough? I think it comes with the current and standard conveniences (like speed of transfer). Anything else that is comparable? Perhaps, the Western Digital 1 TB My Passport External Drive?

I have an older 3TB Western Digital MyBook External Hard drive, and it works fine for movie/media storage. Personally, I would spring for more than 1TB, as movie files are pretty big, and can fill up a drive easily.

I'm not talking about hundreds of movies going onto the hard drive. Never been a big collector like that. I ended up getting the Seagate one for even cheaper at Best Buy. They matched the price and gave a discount as well.
