Post subject:  statistics calculating

I am wondering if there's a way to do card game outcome statistics in excel or some other odds calculation software.

specifically, i am curious about various rule permutations for an 8 card game of Hi/Lo. How often will it be won, how often lost and what will making fine adjustments to the rules do to these odds.

Anyone out there that can help with this?

what about writing a very small program to randomly deal a deck of cards and play this game 10,000 time and then give me the results as statistics.

This would seem to be easy. I used to program YEARS ago, would there be a language someone not entirely new to coding could pick up in short order.

That would be a monte carlo simulation.
