Hey now! I hope everybody is doing well and staying safe.

I think it's time to build a new rig- using this corona virus is a good as any excuse.

My question is.

Should I build a computer from scratch or should I just buy something? I noticed there are some pretty decent gaming rigs out there now.

Then again, all my information is completed outdated.

If I want to budget something that's less than 1 grand and with the expectation that it would last me another 5-10 years, what would be your recommendation?

As always, thank you for all of your inputs!

Hey Now Jinxter!

Nobody wants to see my ugly face or hear my flute voice so no streaming for me.

It will pretty much be a gaming rig with a few adobe products.

Budget= sub $1000 excluding Monitor,mouse, keyboard.

I'm looking at stuff on newegg and motherboards.org to do my research.

Another thing you can do and look at PC build vids
I usually watch Linus Tech Tips and Bitwit on Youtube, they have vids where they build gaming PCs at different price points and it can give you a good start as to how much you want to spend
Watch this vid by Bitwit released last Oct, but the parts are still available and would make a decent gaming PC

OMEN by HP Gaming Desktop - Intel Core i7 - 16GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 - 1TB Hard Drive - Brushed Aluminum
Just for reference. My son is running a Vive with this and it's been really flawless. It only has two spaces for hard drives though.

Thanks for all the suggestions everybody.

Will update you on my purchases and build- could be a fun little project during this shelter-in-place.
