God help me, my kids are into Pokemon cards. If anyone out there wants to get rid of some, let me know and I'll possibly buy them off of you.

Those sorts of games are great for critical thinking, problem solving, and so on, but they're also really damn expensive to get into (especially if you're trying to do so competitively). Best of luck to you and the kids on the Pokemon adventures! If they ever get into Magic: The Gathering, I may be able to help, as I'm sitting on a few thousand cards that I haven't looked at in years. ^_^

Yeah, got really into it card games with a few of my friends as a teenager. If I had to guess, I probably have somewhere around 7,000 cards. I tried to count them all over a decade ago and quit around 4,000.
That's just magic too. I also have a considerable amount of cards from star wars, mech warrior, warhammer, netrunner, five kingdoms, and the wheel of time, among others.

It was definitely pretty low budget - some of the card art was OK, but some of it was laughably bad (see Shaidar Haran below).
