Can anyone tell me what this game / thing / sandbox is and whether or not my son (9, plays minecraft, clash of clans but no shooters) would be okay playing it? he's expressed interest but i want to make sure it's appropriate.

My kid, 11, played with it. It lets you bring the charactors and items in from other games. I see him with mainly HL and CS charactors. they are basicly bots that can be made static so you can move them as you want. All the HL weapons are available and the bots can be used as targets. I will ask him what else it can do.

GMOD is basically a sandbox utilizing the gravity gun as its primary tool. You can download various different resources from a variety of different steam games and can then create different game modes, maps, etc. People use GMOD to make everything from special pics, memes, machinima, maps/levels for games, etc.
