Figured I would start a thread here for this game now that it is open to Pre-Orders, and general release on the 20th of Dec.

We need to get a Guild Hall. Tried to create one during Beta, but guess it did not "stick". I guess next one who gets around to it can get it going. I would vote for a "PvE" guild hall .. not too particular as to affiliation.

Re-created only 1 character thus far ... Sith Inquisitor. Name is "CaptainMorgan". Level 8 atm.

Needs: In-Game Chat method. Vent or other ?????? Would make it much more enjoyable.

Who else is in or will be on or after the 20th ? I think BlankBB is in now .. not sure how to hook up with you yet BBB.

I need to know how to use that special crystal thing for Pre-Orders that gives your saber a special color.

Also, I had everything .. pre-order, beta, etc but never got a "Companion" or at least don't know how to acquire it. Anybody able to help with that ??

Make sure you have entered your pre-order code into your SWTOR account to get early access. Maybe they are staggering how early you get in ? I would expect everyone who pre-ordered should be on by the weekend.

As a Sith Inquisitor, you get your first companion around lvl 9 on a quest...big, ugly thing...
2nd one will come later...never received that one as I was concentrating on my Jedi Character
Are we going Sith then?
I will start Inquisitor again and go Assassin again...liked that class...was quite fun...or if need be can go Juggernaut to balance out our classes
...will have to have a Jedi Alt as well

...and not in game yet

Official SWTOR forums have listed that due to my date of pre-order, I may get access on Friday. Wheeeee
This is probably the worst roll out of any MMO ever...at least sometime that night (after FNF) I will finally get to roll my character.
Now Fubar...please, if you would please, let us know what server so that we might be able to, oh, I don't know...Guild up?

Well, there are multiple servers. I just got booted off the one I was on. In red letters "Full" .. another was "Very Full", and all others were "Heavy".

That's the big problem with letting people in early. You end up with split groups because the early people fill up the available servers so they add more and force the people who come in later onto different servers.

Just to follow up, there are only 8 west coast PvE servers. It seems like most of us are west coasters, and PvE is usually a safe bet, as you can still toggle your PvP flag on if you want to do that, or queue for warfronts.

With that said, the servers are - Master Zhar Lestin, Lord Praven, Vornskr, The Jekk'Jekk Tarr, Mask of Nihilus, Space Slug, Hyperspace Cannon, The Harbinger.

I made a couple characters on Vornskr for now, but I can relocate if need be. Playing on Tzensant (bounty hunter) at the moment.

Can the guild be both republic and empire, or is it just limited to one faction?

I believe it is limited to one faction, it seems to be the way they normally work that sort of thing in games like this

I was on the Harbinger .. and do I detect some attitude ?? :2fer:

That was, before I got dropped and then the server was overly-full.

I will try to get back on there again tonight when creating a guild, but if not, I'll let you know when I know.

Just got to the space port where you can create a guild very late last night. Couldn't find the NPC. Will try to locate him tonight and get it done.

Any STRONG preferences for alliance ?? My only char to date is Sith Inquisitor / Assassin, but I will create more and want to play both sides.

Of course there is attitude you @$$...we asked a simple ?...what server are you on.
You gave every answer except for the one we wanted...so yes, attitude firmly in place due to someone NOT answering the question that was asked.

Riddle me this .. maybe it is me being naive with the whole MMORPG realm ... but ...;

I create my character on server A. Level him up somewhat. Then some random day, server A is busy so I jump on server C. Are you telling me I will not have access to my character since it is not on Server B which I had to jump on due to population size ?

Doesn't it only matter when playing with friends that you all as a group get on one particular server ?

I understand we should have a default for everyone to jump on when gathering ... but with noone else able to play yet I didn't see it as a crisis situation. School me if my assumptions are wrong please.

fubar, the point is that people may only have the time to put into 1 character. even if you have time for more than one, typically you want to put most of your time getting 1 character to top level so that you can do all of the fun group stuff together.

that is why someone needs to pick a main server for the guild to get started on. if you have to go on other servers sometimes, thats fine, but someone needs to pick a main before everyones top characters end up separated.

Hey Fubar, here is an MMO primer...
Not all MMOs are like GW...
When you create a character on server A, it is ONLY on server A...so if you don't want to wait in queue and don't mind playing on another server (say, Server B), please understand that you will be playing a different character and you will have to start ANOTHER guild if you decide to stay on server B.

This is why we were asking, since you had earliest access by all accounts and we wanted to know what your main was and what side...at the very least we want to know what server. This way we don't waste time playing on a different server.

OH! I didn't understand his confusion. yeah, if you play on a different server, its a different toon. no interaction with the first server at all.

server: harbingber
char name; Captainmorgan
affiliation: Sith
Char: Sith Inquisitor/Assassin
Level: 11

As for guild: You need to have 4 people in a group when you register the guild, and pay $5k for it.

Woot!, finally got my early invite e-mail this morning, so hope to hop on tonight after work :D

I haven't been reading up on the official forums - will there be a way to transfer "toons" from one server to another?

For you guys that were in the Early Beta, did those characters get erased? Are the missions in the same as in the beta?

Yes, toons in the beta are gone. Yes, for the most part the missions are the same or almost nearly. There seems to me to be a couple additional ones.

I don't think I'm going to be getting on harbinger tonight, just not worth it to me to sit in a 90 minute queue, I'll hop in when it's off of peak hours though!
