Brothers in Arms Furiouse 4?

Sat Jul 23, 2011 6:53 pm

WTF is this?!

I enjoyed the past 3 games and now they come up with this crap? I can't believe this. Lame.

Gearbox is moving onto being edgier and sillier. Borderlands kicked it all off, then Duke, and they aren't going back to the more straight laced days of Brothers in Arms without some of that goofiness. Probably a good thing though.

Let me say that from a developer's standpoint, they spend years making these games. Their enjoyment over the course of those years is more important than your hours of playing it, even if it's 500 hours. They took much much longer making it.

ALL ABOARD THE SELFISH TRAIN :2fer:

Quick point here Z...
I used to work in Game Testing over at MS as an STE2 (Software Test Engineer 2) and averaged 64 hours a week. I was there for the mandatory 40 plus a mandatory 24 on top. (I worked mainly in Configuration Testing, with some Multiplayer and a year's worth of Localization Testing.) Some weeks I was there longer, others slightly shorter. If I take that number, subtract lunch and dinner 'hours', then in 1 year, I put in over 3200 hours testing a game. Imagine if the game sucked... Luckily, none of the games I tested sucked, other than Flight Simulator...that game is a YAWN FEST! The devs are making a game that they want to play. What you want is actually secondary...though for some studios, they SHOULD take what their fans suggest...

Heh heh, now it feels like you made one comment, Z, and we're jumping all over you, but that's not how I meant for it to come off. Just meant to point out that devs need to like what they make, and I don't think they are still into the serious game they once made. You do have a right to wish for things and express your disappointment. Just don't be surprised if they take things in a new direction.
