I'm not sure why people need to be playing it right now. Everyone I know who played it, played it 3-4 years ago and we've had our lengthy discussions. The game has some decent music, nothing too compelling though.

Here's SNK's version of Ken's theme, in the game SNK vs Capcom: Match of the Millenium on NeoGeo Pocket Color. One of my favorites. This emulator version has some odd slowdown in places.

I'm surprised nothing from the Castlevania series has made it on here yet. The soundtrack blew me away first time I ever heard it and is one of the main reasons I love the games so much.

I copied this over from the WoW forums, seemed like an appropriate place to post about it as well :D

Bael, Sdraw and I attended this Saturday night, and it was amazing! They picked music from a very wide variety of games, so there was definitely something for everyone. Also in attendance was Jeremy Soule, the gentleman who composed the theme for Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. After the event ended, we were able to talk with him a bit and get his autograph. He seemed like a very nice guy

The concert program for the evening was conducted by Andy Brick -

Play! Opening Fanfare - (Nobuo Uematsu)
Super Mario Bros. - (Koji Kondo)
Battlefield 1942/2142 - (Joel Eriksson)
Silent Hill - (Akira Yamaoka)
Castlevania - (Michiru Ymane)
Kingdom Hearts - (Yoko Shimomura)
Legend of Zelda - (Koji Kondo)

Intermission

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion - (Jeremy Soule)
Chrono Trigger/Chrono Cross - (Yaunori Mitsuda)
Halo - (Martin O'Donnell)
Sonic the Hedgehog - (Masato Nakamura)
Shadow of the Colossus - (Ko Otani)
World of Warcraft - (Jason Hayes)
One Winged Angel - (Nobuo Uematsu)

All in all, a wonderful evening, and well worth the price of admission. ^_^

This was recorded on a snuck in camera from the Toronto concert (if anyone recorded tonights show, it's not posted yet). It's not the same medley they played tonight, but you get the idea.

Its shmup music time, now lets see if any of these can compete for the gvmp"

First off its Star Fox:

Then to one of the most difficult shmup Ikaruga:

My favorite NES shmup of all time Dragon Spirit: The New Legend:

You can play the game here: http://nintendo8.com/game/659/dragon_spirit_-_the_new_legend/

Finally, I'll end with one of the most popular shmups series Raiden, Raiden 2:

Today its some music from my favorite platformer of all time: Yoshi's Island:
Frankly, the only reason this song is included is so you can compare it to the next video:

Watch this video after you've listened to the previous video:

This is the map screen music, it begins with the first level map for two times through then moves onto level 2...

Greatest final boss music ever? Yes.

Mega Man Music Day everyone and I'm going to put this out right away if you hate/dislike the Mega Man franchise you most likely support terrorism because the series is that good. And with that a piece from each game in the original series sans 10 and dang is it hard to do:

Mega Man 1, where it all started

Since I already put out Wiley Stage 1/2 from Mega Man 2, here is the intro to that game:

Intro music to MM3:

Mega Man 4 - Skull Man

Mega Man 5 - Napalm Man

Mega Man 6 - Blizzard Man

Mega Man 7 - Junk Man

Mega Man 8 - Wiley Stage 1 (This has the WORST mega man music in the series)

NOTE MEGA MAN 9 is SOOO good that I have to post this review. This is the only way to give the music justice since Mega Man 2/3, but note this review contains language but perfectly represents the music/the game itself:

Note: I own Mega Man 1-9 (will buy 10 when I get access to my Nintendo Wii), Mega Man X 1-6 (have played either 7 or 8 forgot which), the PC version of Mega Man X, ports of the two Mega Man fighters, port of the Mega Man kart racing game, rented Mega Man Soccer when I was little kid multiple times, own Mega Man Battle Network 2, when I get my hands on a new Nintendo DS (my was stolen around a year ago from someone that broke into my place) will pick up Mega Man Zero Collection and I can't forget my grandmother's copy of Mega Man 6 for the NES! So please ask me about Mega Man anytime I LOVE IT!!!!!

I can't think of any way to tie these musical pieces together, so here they are:

If anyone has heard any of the new Scott Pilgrim vs. The World music for the game, it sounds pretty sick. Otherwise anything Megaman is epic.

I can tell everyone is depressed since there has been a lack of video game music on this forum for a while.....so here is some more wonderful music!

But before we get to the fun stuff you need to be healed!

Now to the NES in the old school game from February 22, 2010: Battle Kid: Fortress of Peril!

Sorry I love Mega Man to much:

Live from the San Francisco Symphony... I apologize in advance for any off-key singing, they were trying something different and using the audience as the choir. It worked better the night I shot this video than it did the previous night, so you can imagine how poorly it went then! ^_^

The video is a tiny bit shaky as well, we had to borrow a crappy camera from family as ours is floating around somewhere in storage from our recent move.

This pic is from a separate meet and greet after the show.

From left to right - Susan Calloway (vocals in various music pieces), myself, Arnie Roth (the conductor), my lovely wife, and Nobuo Uematsu (the guy responsible for pretty much every memorable piece of Final Fantasy music... ever).

And another -

Ha! Yeah, after I got out of the Air Force, Bael asked me to grow my hair out, just because I could. Now that it's grown out, I don't think that I could cut it - I've actually gotten fond of it, and I think she'd kill me, as she loves it. ^_^ It's definitely a far cry from what it used to look like!

Nice! I saw the same Final Fantasy/Nobuo Uematsu suite when they played in SF. Nothing quite like hearing a live orchestra play the Battle Fanfare.

A cool track I re-discovered from an semi-old, semi-obscure game. This is the music as you scale a missile silo hundreds of meters tall as a 6-legged robotic using an atomic jetpack.

I'm back again with some more music, and the last few days I have been playing a lot of Sim City 2000. Hopefully everyone here has played at least one of the Sim Cities, but here is some music from these timeless games:
I REALLY like this version of Sim City (and it is the only one to my knowledge that has weather effects for the different seasons)

Sim City 2000 = amazing

and finally one of the main reasons to play the Sim City games, disasters, so here disaster decision music from Sim City 2000!
